Hawaii Youth Sailing Association
The Hawaii Youth Sailing Association (HYSA) was founded to encourage, support, and promote the growth of junior sailing and racing in Hawaii.
The primary purpose of HYSA is to improve communication and connect junior sailors with sailing programs and available resources.
HYSA maintains and distributes the master calendar for junior sailing clinics, races, and special events. Clinics are held annually for Laser, Laser Radial, El Toro, and O'pen Skiff sailors to prepare them for racing at regional, national, and international levels. Our yacht clubs host multiple regattas year-round, including the regional qualifier for the US Sailing Junior Olympic Festival.
HYSA is a non-profit volunteer organization that relies on the support of its members, their families, junior sailing coaches, and yacht club affiliates. It is funded solely by annual membership dues, clinic fees, and donations. Proceeds are used to fund clinics and purchase trophies presented at the annual recognition banquet.
You Can Make a Difference
There are many opportunities to get involved and we welcome all volunteers.
Volunteer Your Time
We are always looking for volunteers and invite you to get involved in whatever area that interests you.
An area where we are currently seeking a volunteer(s) is for our Parent-of-the-Day position. At every HYSA race, one parent volunteer will be the on-site, on-land liaison to the race committee/coaches on the water providing support in whatever is needed.
Send us an email with any questions or if you’re interested in volunteering in any capacity.
